Leadership Foundations

Across the world, many new expressions of Leadership Foundations are emerging!
Individuals and organizations in cities as diverse at Guatemala City, Guatemala; Jaipur, India; and Louisville, Kentucky are in the process of becoming affiliates of the global Leadership Foundations network.

Most recently, September 26-30, leaders from 11 total organizations gathered virtually for a week to walk through LF’s new affiliate orientation, Training Essentials.

This included exploring the theology behind the Leadership Foundations movement, the components that make up LF’s Wheel of Change, and how local LF’s are driving real and lasting change as they love their cities.

A remarkable and diverse group, these leaders, representing cities from across the world have all been drawn to the Leadership Foundations network and its vision of bringing about long-lasting spiritual and social change.

In the coming months, we are excited to share the many remarkable stories of these newly emerging expressions of Leadership Foundations, and the incredible work that they are doing locally to engage leaders of good faith and good will, building the capacity of others, and developing joint initiatives.

What book, movie, quote, or tv show has most shaped your understanding of leadership or the city?

A quote that has shaped my understanding of leadership and the city is, “Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.”

While the amount of work there is to do to transform cities is great, this quote reminds me that we are freed from having to complete it all, though our obligation to continue remains. We may never see a huge transformation in our lifetime. The work stretches far beyond us. However, this does not make our acts of faithfulness in the day to day less significant, no matter how small they may seem.
