Daily Miracles in the Heart of Memphis
Rooted in the extraordinary power of God displayed in Acts 19:11, My Town Miracles (MTM) is more than a movement – it is a community of families, partners, volunteers, and believers who trust that God also works in powerful ways in the present and future. MTM is committed to showing up for one another, meeting families where they are, filling gaps, and cultivating pathways to stability and security for Memphis youth. Their call for community is simple but powerful, “This is My Town, and it’s your town, too.” Altogether, God can work within and walk alongside each of us to make it a place where every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
At MTM, partnership begins with listening and connecting deeply enough to move past surface-level needs so that gaps that often go overlooked can be filled. Instead of relying on broad questions alongside one-size-fits-all solutions, MTM takes time to ask, “how are you really doing?”. Discovering where might one feel stuck, what’s been overlooked, and how can others support make a real difference.
From there, collaboration and service take shape in a personal and fluid manner. Families help define how support is cultivated then distributed, and partner organizations engage where they feel most aligned or capable. Which could be meeting immediate needs, offering consistent presence, or contributing specific expertise. This approach allows each relationship to develop with unconditional love, creating support systems that are not only practical, but meaningful and responsive to real life.
Initiatives, programs and strategies are built on a simple but deeply intentional goal to, “do for one today what we would like to do for many.” Each initiative is designed to meet families where they are not with prepackaged solutions, but with care that adapts to their lived realities. Walking with families through every season – uncertainty, crisis, and even, when the tables flip through growth – committed to showing up consistently and faithfully to the will of God. By bringing together families, partners, and community members, these efforts secure pathways that address immediate needs while building toward long-term stability for Memphis youth. All while remaining open to being used by God as miracle makers, participating in the daily miracles that unfold through presence, provision, and community.
My Town Miracles Initiatives
Daily Miracles
Many families’ experiencing poverty may face unexpected financial crises that threaten stability, such as
medical bills, transportation, housing costs, or food insecurity. So Daily Miracles seeks to provide immediate, practical assistance to ensure children’s basic needs are met inside their homes by responding weekly to requests made by community leaders – impacting about 2-4 families a month.
The Christmas Initiative
The holiday season can magnify financial stress for families within circumstances unable to provide beyond gifts or essentials for children. The Christmas Initiative walks alongside families to prepare children for the new year by equipping them with essentials and celebrating Christmas.
More than a Meal (Thanksgiving)
Giving a family a turkey will feed the, for a holiday, gifting a family kitchenware and you can help feed them for a lifetime. Some households lack access to quality cookware and ingredients for traditional holiday meals. More than a Meal creates opportunities for families to prepare and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together.
Love, Your Neighbor (Valentine’s Day)
Refugee children face unique challenges in adjusting to new environments and often lack basic necessities so by delivering care bags to refugee youth, including hygiene items, school supplies and small gifts MTM shows that they care and support youth in Binghampton.
Excel with My Town Miracles (Scholarships)
MTM has partnered with Excel Scholarship & Leadership Program to award $50,000 in scholarships since 2020 to support academic and leadership development among Memphis students where financial barriers would often limit access.
Bringing Home Baby (Summer)
Recognizing that the cost of essential baby supplies can be overwhelming for expecting mothers and families already experiencing hardship the Bringing Home Baby initiative distributes supplies to households and hosts community Baby Shower’s.
Monthly Food Drives
With the recruitment of 15-20 volunteers each month – 250+ families monthly are able to receive groceries as a means to address food insecurity in Orange Mound through regular support.

Whitney Williams, Executive Director
At My Town Miracles, the approach of personal, intentional, and relational care starts within the leadership of Executive Director Whitney Williams who leads in a way that reflects the very heart of the work – present, accessible, and deeply intentional. It’s not uncommon for her to share her personal phone number in spaces across MTM, inviting families and partners into direct, honest communication and collaboration. Whitney’s leadership is not only symbolic it sets the tone. It signals that work isn’t distant or transactional but rooted in everyday relationships where people are known by name, heard wholeheartedly, and walked alongside with over time.
Since 2016, Whitney has been a steady part of the My Town Miracles story calling upon previous ministry work experience with youth and serving as an active board member, before stepping into the role of Executive Director as of September 2022. Her background in elementary education, and as community outreach leader for Memphis youth shapes how she shows up with both compassion alongside a deep commitment to expand what’s possible for young people across the city. Whether walking alongside students navigating critical moments in life or organizing and supporting creative community-driven initiatives, Whitney brings a perspective that is both grounded in faith and sustainability.
That same heart to connect intentionally with others carries into the spaces MTM creates. It’s fitting, then, that one of the most meaningful expressions of My Town Miracles, The Christmas Initiative, began in a similarly personal way. What started six years in Whitney’s very own front yard as a means to fill the gaps for families experiencing hardships during the holiday season has grown into a powerful, community-wide effort to intentionally show up for families. Superheroes deliver gifts and educational materials to children hoping to deliver the message that they are good, smart and worthy of unconditional love – one that reflects the spirit of MTM at its core to be a consistent presence, sharing generosity, and believing that even the simplest acts can become daily miracles.

11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
